Our History: Morris Brown House Ltd. is owned by Nancy Sherren. Nancy is a decorative arts painter who operates her business from her home, the 1793 Morris Brown House in Providence, RI, a National Register House. She has studied early American Decoration at Rhode Island School of Design and The Fuller Craft Museum. In June 2005 Nancy was chosen as Craftsperson of the Month at Old Sturbridge Village osv.org. A retired school teacher, Nancy has been engaged in research and application of early American design and preservation for nearly 20 years. In recognition of her endeavors, she was awarded the 1997 Providence Preservation Society Award for Residential Rehabilitation. She currently demonstrates floorcloth techniques for classes at Old Sturbridge Village.
